Kenneth Michael “Mike” Deaton, 72, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021, surrounded by his wife and daughter.

Mike was born on May 5, 1949, to the late Kenneth and Kathryn Deaton. He is survived by his wife Marsha; his daughter, Laura Fisher (Mick) of Winston Salem; sisters Marsha Blust and Sandra Kerr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike was a star athlete during his time at Mooresville High School and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Before retiring, he worked for Burlington Industries and was later General Manager of the Mooresville ABC Stores. He was also a volunteer fireman and served many years on the Mooresville ABC Board.

A celebration of life will be held at Prospect Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 1, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow.
