Linda Ethel Martin, 78, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on December 10, 2021. She was born on October 7, 1943, in Savannah, Ga., to the late John and Juanita Edwards Groover.

Linda always loved crafts and arranging flowers, shopping, cooking, walking with her friends. She enjoyed playing dominos and was a wonderful hostess. Linda was a great prayer warrior and loved being involved with her circle at church. She was a very active member of Berea Baptist Church. She was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Groover, and sister, Nell Groover Wintersteen.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl Martin; daughter, Kim Martin; son Ken Martin (Leisa); grandchildren, Travis Martin, Jordan White (Justin), Stephanie Colvill (Carly), Josh Martin (Savannah), Jacob Lumpkin (Baylee) and Eli Martin (Ana); great-grandchildren, Dixie and Waylon White, James, Eliza and Auron Martin, Sophia and Samuel Martin, and Emersyn Lumpkin; brother, David Groover (Emily); sister-in-law, Peggy Groover; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Berea Baptist Church, Mooresville, N.C. The funeral will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Joel Collette and Rev. Jeff Rowland. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the church cemetery.
