Norman “Norm” Edward Goelzer, 87, of Mount Ulla, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He was born on August 10, 1934, in Bloomington, Ill., to the late George Edward and Margaret Kendall Goelzer.
Mr. Goelzer graduated from the University of Illinois. He was a retired Lt. Col. from the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was on the competition shooting rifle/pistol team. He retired as an engineer from Ford Motor Company. Known as Stormin Norman by his friends, he enjoyed shooting and loved race cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Goelzer, and brother, Robert Goelzer.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Jeans Goelzer; children, Timothy Goelzer and wife Michelle and their children, Rachel Goelzer, Landon Goelzer, Kelly Fox and husband Daniel,and Jill Booth; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15, at Glenwood Memorial Park.
