Richard “Kenny” Kenneth Deihl Jr., 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Autumn Care of Statesville. Born May 1, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Richard Kenneth Deihl Sr. and Edna Friedlein Deihl.
Mr. Deihl was retired from Badcock and Wilcock, where he worked in parts replacement. He was a member of Rocky Mount Methodist Church in Troutman. Mr. Deihl was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed his favorite teams, the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers. He also loved mowing his lawn, gardening, bird watching and spending time in his shop. Mr. Deihl was known for his wonderful smile.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert G. Deihl.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan Deihl; children, Richard K. Deihl (Debbie) of Virginia, Jeffrey A. Deihl (Christine) of Virginia, Kellee S. Lefco (Thomas), of New York and Mark K. Deihl (Tricia) of Arizona; sister, Rona Black (David) of Statesville; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
There will be no services held at this time.
