Richard “TR” Nelson Mayberry, 68, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away September 21, 2021, at Carolina Caring – Sherrill’s Ford Hospice. TR was born in Iredell County on May 5, 1953, to the late Joe Billy Mayberry and Pearl Moose Mayberry of Stony Point. He worked for Ansco Cable and was a member at Stony Point Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death two brothers, Eddie Mayberry and Craig Mayberry; and one sister, Diane Dagenhart.

In addition to his mother, survivors include two brothers, Jerry Mayberry wife Bonnie of Stony Point and Steve Mayberry of Statesville; a sister, Judy M. Moose of Hiddenite; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Stony Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Mitchell Rash will officiate. The body will lie in state on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home. All CDC guidelines will be followed.
