Sam Holman Hartsell, 66, of Mooresville, N.C., entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on February 25, 1954, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Sam Hartsell and Ollie Smith Butler. Mr. Hartsell enjoyed working his entire life; over the last 14 years he worked two jobs. He enjoyed eating Mexican food, fishing, working on old cars, riding motorcycles, mowing, and gardening. He loved being with his family, his dogs Junior and Diamond, making people laugh, and telling others about the Lord. Mr. Hartsell was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William “Butch” Walker and Otis “Skeeter” Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pamela Gibbs Hartsell; son, Sammy Travis Hartsell (Jennifer) and their children, Samantha, Victoria, Zachary, Porsha, and the great grandchildren, Kaiden and Lacey; daughter, Tina Hartsell and her children, Seth and Morgan Beam; son, Shane Hartsell (Kristine) and their children, Easton and Paisley Hartsell; sisters, Shirley Walker Maddox, Sue Walker Gamble and Jeanne Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
