Samuel “Sam” Leon Benkiel, 65, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at his residence. He was born on July 6, 1955 in Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Jack and Regina Gladstone Benkiel.

Sam was employed with Lowe’s Corporate in Mooresville for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing and cars, was a handyman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dan and John Benkiel.

Sam is survived by his wife of 41 years, Donna Greene Benkiel; daughters, Amanda Benkiel, Lyndsey Eutsler (Kay); brother, Mark Benkiel (Melissa); and grandchildren, Ethan Maple and Kaylynn Eutsler.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Karriker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
