Willie Mae “Nanny” Brannan Long, 92, of Harmony, N.C., entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. A native of Franklin County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert Brannan and Lena Mae Frizzell Brannan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David V. Long; her brothers, Bernice Brannan and Johnny Brannan; and her sisters, Nell Turner, Judy Murray, and Jane Bonner.
Mrs. Long was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Long are her son, David B. Long and wife Betsy of Harmony; her daughter, Deborah Lynn Jordan and husband Eddie of Harmony; a brother, Jimmy Brannan of Ripley, Miss.; and a sister, Nina Bynum of Hillsboro, Tenn. Also surviving Mrs. Long are her grandchildren, James Kent Jordan, Matthew Jordan and wife MacKenzie, Delana Long and Kyler Long. She also has three great-grandchildren, Easton Jordan, Tyler Jordan, and Elizabeth Long.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Daniel Settle, will be held at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
