Wilma Mae Cunupp Helms, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. She was born on January 3, 1934, in Mooresville to the late Richard and Phronia Taylor Cunupp.

Mrs. Helms attended Mount Mourne Church of God. She enjoyed her flower gardens and shopping. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Helms, and six siblings, and son-in-law, Tim Marriner.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Albea, Donna Marriner, Diane (Larry) Simpson, and Terri Wyatt (David); grandchildren, Jonathan Wright, Tiffany (Chris) Shelton, and Jamie Wright; great grandchildren, Xavier, Hannah, Zack, Connor, Vega Wright, Payton (Steve) Hallowell, and Devon Shelton; several great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald D. Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
