Avery Charles “Chuck” Settle Jr., 62, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on November 16, 2022. He was born on February 4, 1960, to Avery Charles Settle Sr. and Louise Deckman Settle. He was a standout football player at Elkin High School, where he graduated in 1978.
Chuck was an accomplished owner and operator of Affordable Comfort Systems (HVAC), where he loved serving the Mooresville community until he retired. He was a jack-of-all-trades and was never afraid to tackle a project, including welding, plumbing, and restoring homes. He loved to fish, garden, watch sports, and spend time at the beach. He was proud of his children, Jordan Settle (son), who is a member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne, and Erin Settle (daughter), who is a deputy with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet Settle; children, Jordan Settle (son) and Erin Settle (daughter); and parents, Avery Charles Settle Sr. and Louise Deckman Settle; as well as many aunts, uncles, father- and mother-in-law, brother- and sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.

One of my favorite memories of Chuckie was when he was about 3 or 4 years old and the neighborhood would be playing ball at Pleasant Hill School playground. When he hit the ball someone yelled “Run home Chuckie, run home.” and Chuckie took off running off the field and up to his house. So sorry for your loss. Prayers.
Chucky and I growing up was joined at the hip. If I got in trouble he did also because our dads knew we where together. Avery and Louise, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Another ANGEL in heaven.
