Carolyn Diane Dixon Roten, 79, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at Maple Leaf Health Care.

Ms. Roten was born April 25, 1943, in Iredell County the daughter of the late James C. Dixon and Lillian Campbell Dixon. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and had been employed at Kewaunee Scientific Corporation. Carolyn was a former member of Cochran Street Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda D. Key and Wanda D. Fox.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Elaine R. Watt (Jeff) and Kay Roten, both of Statesville; and her son, Dean Roten II of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Matthew Roten, Kathryn Roten, Caroline Mastrosante (Joe Mastrosante), and Jeffrey E. Watt II (Hannah M. Watt); a great granddaughter; Stella Watt; and great grandson; Micah Watt.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Spry officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
