Daniel “Danny” R. Anders, 75, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
He was a coal miner in West Virginia for 14 years, then retired from Haldex Barnes after 22 years. He was a member of Northview Freewill Baptist Church of Statesville, N.C. He was a beloved husband, daddy, superhero, Poppi, Papaw and friend. He loved watching his Westerns, cracking jokes and making everyone laugh.
Danny was born on May 27, 1947, in Welch, W.Va., to the late Richard and Dorothy Anders. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Betty Foy and Lucy Riggs; and his beloved daughter, Tonia Ann Anders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Glenna Anders; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Joe Sheesley; grandchildren, Scotty Wade Warren, MaKayla Sheesley, Kelsi Powell and Perry Sheesley; great grandchildren, Katana Warren, McKenna Grace Warren, Bella DiBernard, Jaci Rae Powell and CJ Powell; sisters, Carol Jennings of Maryland, and Pat Watkins and Janice Perez of West Virginia; and many loving in-laws and other family members.
The family will receive family and friends for a visitation and the celebration of life service on August 24, 2022, at 6 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. They will visit with friends from 5 to 6 p.m. prior to service. His final resting place will be at Woodlawn Memorial in West Virginia.
