David McKay Fox, 79, who was known as “The Bicycle Man,” of Kings Grant in Statesville, N.C., died Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Jurney’s of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on May 29, 1943, he was a son of the late Clarence David Fox and Helen McKay Fox.

David knew many people in Troutman and Statesville and many of their family histories, and was an authority on trains and movies. He was an avid N.C. State fan and loved going to the state fair each year. He also loved to travel to the Amish Horse Progress Days and spending holidays with his lifelong friends.

Left to cherish his memory are lifetime friends, Judge and Mrs. Preston Cornelius, Bob and Pam Stamey, Jim Edmiston, and several cousins.

Graveside services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church of Troutman Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Mary John Dye officiating.
