Doris Bustle Levan, 87, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Brookdale Peachtree Senior Living.
Mrs. Levan was born August 8, 1935, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Charlie Armfield Bustle Sr. and Mabel Shell Bustle. She was married to Harlee Eugene Levan, who passed away in 2007. Doris was a homemaker, creating a place of love for her husband and children. She attended Monticello Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Mark Levan; her brother, C.A. Bustle Jr.; her sisters, Edna Lackey and Helen Brewer; her granddaughter, Melissa Roche; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and her fur baby, “Tootsie.”
Those left to cherish Mrs. Levan’s memory include her daughters, Ann Levan Cape (Wayne) and Pam Levan Current; her sons, Johnny Levan (Martha) and Jimmy Levan (Diana); her sisters, Joann Bustle Wallace and Louise Bustle Christie (Doug); and her grandchildren, Dana Stewart, Timothy Cape, Denise Carlisi, Amanda Perry, Kaitlyn Levan, Jason Levan, Josh Levan, Matt Current, and Brittany Levan. Survivors also include 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Doris Levan will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Jacob Scott will officiate. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow funeral service at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
