Douglas McArthur Byrd, 80, passed away at his home on August 23, 2022. Douglas was born in Duplin County, N.C., on December 27, 1941, to Paul and Beulah Mae Jones Byrd.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Cameron Douglas Byrd.
Douglas is survived by his daughter, Christa Byrd Phillips(Robert) of Asheville, N.C.; grandchild, Maya Kathryn Phillips, also of Asheville, N.C.; sisters; Shirley Schomisch of Appleton, Wis., Linda Vorwerk of Austin, Texas, and Peggy Brooks of Fayetteville, N.C.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
