Evelyn Laynette “Lannie” Robinson-Ricci, 79, of Mooresville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2022.
She was born on January 10, 1943, (her mother’s birthday) to the late Ralph Clayton Robinson and Sarah Elizabeth Williams Robinson. Lannie graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, N.C., and also received a degree in interior design. Following graduation, she worked in the secretarial field for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Her interests and talents were many, including gardening, cooking/baking, interior decorating, drawing/painting, and crafting. Her Christmas decorations were the highlight of the season for family and friends and her gift-wrapping was a work of art. Lannie especially enjoyed traveling and loved seeing new places. Over the years, she lovingly cared for her parents and family members in their declining health. She was petite in stature, but she had a giant heart for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Lannie was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Michael Anthony “Tony” Ricci.
Lannie is survived by her aunts, Odessa Overcash of Mooresville and Barbara Mayberry of Huntersville; as well as many cousins and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 3:30 p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Mark Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3365, Mooresville, NC 28117.
