Felix Gilbert Souther Jr., 79, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born April 21, 1942, to the late Felix Gilbert Souther Sr. and Cervenia Cheek Souther Johnson.

Mr. Souther was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepfather; Harley Johnson; brother, Jerry Wayne Souther; and sisters, Artha Mae Massick, Marthalene Crater, and Evelyn Gregory.

Felix leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Goodin Souther; his daughter, Hope Michelle Coleman (Mark); his grandson, Zakary Coleman; and a dear extended family; Sigfredo Quintanilla and his family.

Felix was a wonderful husband and father, was proud to be a farmer, and loved to hunt. He worked at J.C. Steele for 42 years.

A public lie-in-state will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ricky Crater officiating with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
