Gayle Cohey Brown, 40, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on October 4, 2022. She was born on July 16, 1982, to the late Diane Peterson Black and William “Bill” Cohey.

Gayle enjoyed photography, going to the beach, gardening and helped with Pitbull rescue. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved fur baby, Bella.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn Cheyenne Brown of Mocksville, N.C.; nieces Taya Nicole Brown of Maiden, N.C., Courtney Dyann Cohey of Grover, N.C., Alyssa Gabrielle Brown of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Summer Paige Hope of Kings Mountain, N.C.; nephew Cory Michael Payne of Kings Mountain, N.C.,; great Nieces Hazel Leann Shell of Grover, N.C., and Zailey Shea’Ardra Dover of Grover N.C., Grayden Thomas Shell of Grover, N.C.; sister Donna Carol Ferrari and fiance John “Johnny” Benjamin Scarbrough of Statesville, N.C.; and Harley (dog).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
