James “Jack” Willard Curtis of Mooresville, N.C., passed from this life to be in the presence of Jesus in a glorious time, surrounded by his family on January 27, 2022. Jack was born June 5, 1928, and he lived a wonderfully long life with the love of his life and wife of 71 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Hattie Curtis; and brothers, Donald and Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor; three sons, Dan, Scott (Christie), and Mark (Pam); six grandchildren, Asheli Thompson (Eric), Kate Walser, Kristin Brown (Jason), Leighann Lewis (Brent), and Megan and Joshua; along with 17 great-grandchildren.
He provided for his family as a manager at Delks 5&10, as an entrepreneur with his ownership of Big Pig Barbeque and ended his career as the executive director of the Mooresville Housing Authority. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay, and we rejoice that you are in heaven. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” (Psalms 116:15)
The Celebration of Life will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 214 N. Academy Street, Mooresville, N.C., at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022. There will be a time of fellowship after the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
