Jerry “Granddaddy” Lee Weatherman, 82, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born on July 8, 1940, in Forsyth County, N.C., to the late Robert and Ruth Parsons Weatherman. He retired from JC Penny Distribution after 42 years of service.

He enjoyed tennis, volleyball, and painting. He ran in many marathons and was an avid collector of guns, knives, and tools. He went to McDonald’s everyday for his cup of coffee and fellowship with many friends.

Jerry loved his wife and family, and he adored his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Denise Houston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Billie Ann Cass Weatherman; daughter, Doris Ann Brown; sister, Bonnie Weatherman; brothers, David Weatherman (Martha “Beanie”) and Lloyd Weatherman; grandchildren, Amber Weatherman, Krista Mahaffey, Shawna Brown, Summer Brown, Kerri Eldridge (Greg), and Austin Houston; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Korbin, and Kelton Braham, Trent Eldridge, Elan Houston, Kaleb Eldridge, Garland Drennen, and Miles Eldridge; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Kim Creech, and pet, Handsome.

A private service will be held at a later date.
