Johnny Ray Dockery, 56, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on January 8, 2022. He was born on November 3, 1965, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Janet Malcolm Fulbright.

Ray raced for many years in different classes in Dirt Track Racing. He also enjoyed riding UTVs. He loved to spend time with his family. He was deeply loved by them and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, Ray was preceded in death by his grandson, Mason Dockery.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara Dockery; father, Dewey Fulbright; children, Jason Dockery (Samantha) and Amanda Dockery (Will); grandchildren, Renee Gardner, and Jaylynn and Camden Atkins; and sisters, Pam Warner (Jack), Kathy Welborn, and Johnette Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Mike Burchette officiating.
