God granted us an angel by the name of Kanan Tyzir’ Smith on October 20, 2022. Although our time with him was cut short, on November 4, 2022, our hearts will forever be filled with joy and honor because we were able to be graced with two weeks of his beautiful presence.

Kanan was the beloved son of Gbaintian Smith and Jada Stevenson. He is also survived by Godparents, Dr. Donald and Sharon Gray and Beverly and Wayne Gibbs; grandparents, Lewis and Jackie Wilson, Joy and James Mayfield, Gwennesa Smith, George Saydee, and Sharon Mattox; siblings, Zemia Smith, G’naylah Smith, Genesis Smith, and Amonie Smith; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James and Etta Stevenson and Melvenia Smith-Johnson.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 11, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Davidsonville Baptist Church, 422 Turnersburg Highway, Statesville, N.C. The family will meet following the service at 1396 Shinnville Road, Cleveland, NC 27013, where a meal will be served.
