Kathy Cashion Burdette, 67, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C. She was born on January 13, 1955, in Mooresville to the late Henry Burnes Cashion and Edna Pope Cashion.
Kathy was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Mooresville. She loved animals and was always wanting to help people. She continually fought for the underdog and helped support many causes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rayvon Cashion; and grandson, Stephen “Stevie Bear” Burdette.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Burdette; children, Matthew Stone, Joshua Burdette (Mallory), Jennifer Dunnivan, and Michael Burdette (Haley); sisters, Carolyn Floyd and Doris Sherrill (Jimmy); brother, Eugene Cashion (Peggy); grandchildren, Kherrighan, Marryn, MaKayla, Krista, Jonathan, Liam, Kayla, and Journey; great grandchildren, Jaiden and Braxton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby, Lilli Mae.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Fingel and Rev. David Christy officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
