Kay Hinson Sexton, 76, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home on October 22, 2022. She was born November 13, 1945, in Cabarrus County, N.C., to the late Charlie Luther Hinson and Viola Hinson Cloer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Glenn Sexton; daughters, Glenda Upright (Steve), Jennifer Hamdan (Haitham) and grandchildren, Robert Dixon, Alexis, Kelly and Brock Hamdan; brother, Ray Hinson (Paulette) and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda McCarn and brother, Leonard Hinson.
Kay had a heart of gold and loved everyone. She owned and operated a day care for over 30 years and truly enjoyed spending time with children. Additionally, she was a caregiver to family members and elderly during her life.
She was a faithful member of Coddle Creek ARP Church. Her hobbies included canning and freezing produce from Glenn’s wonderful garden each year. She loved fishing in the fall at Cherry Grove Beach and in the pond at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Coddle Creek ARP Church, Mooresville, with Pastor Andrew Shoger officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
