Larry Levis Garner, 78, of Mooresville, N.C., entered the gates of heaven on June 29, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1944, in Robbins, N.C., to the late Levis Garner and Gladys Hussey Cameron.

Larry was a graduate of UNC Charlotte, where he served as the first student body president. He was also a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity there. Larry was a mechanical contractor for 28 years, serving multiple years on the NCMHI. Larry also served as a board member for the Heating and Air Association of NC. He enjoyed farming, boating, entertaining, traveling and all water sports, including scuba diving. He was a loving, joyful, giving man with a great charisma who could light up a room with his smile. He was a friend to all and would help anyone he could. Larry was a loving father and husband who was deeply loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gayle Garner; daughters, Laurie and Lacie Garner; and sister, Kay Cameron of Wilmington, N.C.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Burrell officiating. A reception and receiving of friends will be held immediately following.
