Louise Reves Austin, 94, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C. She was born on November 18, 1927, in Iredell County to the late Clyde Martin Reves and Bessie Spicer Reves. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Kenneth Austin, and by a brother, William Von Reves.

Mrs. Austin attended Ebenezer Elementary, Harmony High School and beautician school in Raleigh, N.C. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Rose Chapel United Methodist Church in Statesville. Louise married the love of her life, Charles Kenneth Austin on September 13, 1950, at Rose Chapel UMC.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Jim Austin (Sandy) of Mt. Ulla and Lee Austin (Donna) of Newport, N.C.; five grandchildren, Andy Austin (Tabatha), Matt Austin (Natasha), Noelle Jones (Jamie), Jeanna Austin and Annalee Austin; seven great-grandchildren, Ashby Austin, Cole Austin, Drew Austin, Garrett Jones, Parker Jones, David Austin and Smith Austin; and one sister, Coleen Reves Hope of Statesville.

Services celebrating Louise’s life will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. She will lie in state in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service while the family greets friends in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Austin, Matt Austin, Cole Austin, Drew Austin, Garrett Jones, and Jamie Jones.
