Mark Douglas Brown, 56, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C.
He was born on January 14, 1966, in Statesville, N.C., to the late Charles Eugene “Gene” Brown and Thelma Beaver Brown. Mark was a 1984 graduate of South Iredell High School and earned his associates degree from Mitchell Community College.
Mark collected vintage toys and loved all things Scooby Doo. He was a Volkswagen enthusiast and enjoyed spontaneous road trips to restaurants around North Carolina. Mark was lively and outgoing and never met a stranger. More than anything, he loved the Lord and was always eager to share the gospel with others.
In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his brothers, Michael Brown and wife Brenda, Terry Brown and wife Barbara, and Robert Brown and wife Elvira; sister, Sharon Brown Duncan and Tony Thompson; beloved nieces and nephews, Barbra Brown, Helga Sherrill and husband Jeremy, Josh Brown and wife Judy, Andrew Brown and wife Annalee, Jacob Duncan and wife Krista, Sara Dull and husband Brandon, and Emily Brown; and great nieces and nephews, Curtis, Carson, Raelynn and Genna; and special friends, Robin Robinson, her daughters Nicci and Taylor, and Rev. Michael Martin.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a celebration of life following at 3 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Martin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Amity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
