Mary Lou Saunders, 88, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on May 26, 2022. She was born on January 12, 1934, in Terrell, N.C., to the late Henry and Inez Sigmon Connor.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Saunders; children, Chuck Saunders (Sherri), John Saunders, Scott Saunders (Christine) and Kendy Cook (Damon); eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joy Howard, Frankie Spencer (Carl) and Kay Valentine.

Private services will be held.
