Mildred Pinchback, 74, of Statesville, N.C., was born February 15, 1948, and was the daughter of the late George Washington Ikard and Eliza Jane Roseboro Ikard. She departed this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Accordius Health in Statesville.
She was a student and resident of Central Orphanage Children’s Home in Oxford, N.C. Upon graduating, she relocated to Philadelphia, Pa., where she lived for many years and worked in the laundry and dry-cleaning industry. She was preceded in death by two brothers, MJ Roseboro and George Ikard Jr.; six sisters, Betty Jean Ikard Perry, Mary Catherine “Coot” Ikard, Sarah Byers, Georgia Ward, Mattie Ruth Turner and Blanche Borders.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Reuben Pinchback Sr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; one son, Reuben Pinchback Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Louise Tisdale of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ida Mae Ikard Davis of Statesville, who was also her caregiver; one brother, James Ikard of Philadelphia, Pa.; beloved grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. with burial in the Belmont cemetery. Elder Wade Ikard will give the eulogy. and Pastor Tawanna Meyers will officiate.
