Nancy Simmons Goforth, 75, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Gordon Hospice House.
Nancy was born on February 23, 1946, in Alexander County and was the daughter of the late Dewey Simmons and Lenabelle Cline Simmons. She attended Taylorsville High School and was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Morgan Goforth; one brother, Jeff Simmons; and two sisters, Hilda Seters and Patsy Sigmon.
Mrs. Goforth is survived by her husband, Steven Curtis Goforth; son, Rev. J. Curtis Goforth (Jennifer); and grandchildren, Cora Goforth and Lylah Goforth. Also surviving are her four brothers, Joe Simmons, Dean Simmons, Lee Simmons, and Michael Simmons; and three sisters, Deborah Little, Melissa Ritchie and Linda Seagle.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, at Christ Boulevard UMC. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sara Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

I am shocked and so sorry to see this. Because of covid we’ve all been shut ins for a while and I haven’t seen Nancy lately. She was always so nice and cheerful whenever I did see her. My best wishes and prayers to the family.

I worked with Nancy at Hunt manufacturing also with Morgan. Morgan and my second cousin Cassie were boyfriend and girlfriend. Steven and Curtis: I am so sorry for your loss. Nancy was a beautiful soul, and I will miss her dearly. Prayers for you and family.
