Rachel Louise Beckham Edwards, 93, of Statesville, N.C., passed away January 18, 2022, after a brief illness at Gordon Hospice House. Rachel was born April 24, 1928, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Garland Sharpe Beckham and Mary Summers Beckham. She was a member of Midway UMC, she loved flower gardening, traveling, and she was an avid reader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emery Lee Edwards; one grandson, Jeffrey Mishoe; and one great-great-grandson, Colt Lail.

Survivors include one son, David Edwards and wife Ellen of Harmony; two daughters, Becky Mishoe and husband Jerry of Statesville, and Nancy Campbell and husband David of Harmony; one sister, Lois Brown of Cleveland, N.C.; and seven grandchildren, Scott Millsaps, Lisa Lail, Jay Mishoe, Luke Edwards, Ethan Edwards, Michelle Shue, and Nichole Lentz. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, January 22, 2022, 11 a.m. at Midway UMC. Rev Ralph Lepley will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10:30 to 11 a.m. before service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
