Ramona Jean Robinson, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on February 10, 2022. She was born on June 14, 1932, in Mooresville to Rowland and Lois Hux Lawter.

Jean enjoyed doing word searches and working outside in her yard. She loved to visit her neighbors and traveling to the beach when she was able. She was a lover of animals, especially Boxer dogs, and was always available to help her neighbors with their pets. She loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, James Randall “Randy” Gibbs; and sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and John Blackwelder; and niece, Lynne Chadic.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Robinson; daughter, Lisa Gierszewski (Paul); daughter-in-law, Sheree Gibbs Sherrill; grandchildren, Jennifer N. Hennessey (Mike Southard) and George V. Hennessey (Alayna), and Dakota A. Gierszewski; great-grandchildren, Jadyn Southard, and Logan and Liv Hennessey; brother, Owen Lawter (Earlene); nieces, Deann Lipe (Rob) and their children, Hannah and Joey, Leanna Lawter (Douglas Werner); and nephews, Eric Blackwelder and Michael Lawter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Glenwood Memorial Park with the Rev. John Miles officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Jean’s love for animals to Piedmont Animal Rescue, 228 E Waterlynn Road, Mooresville, NC 28117.
