Richard “Rit” Vincent Pacella Sr., 77, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville.

He was born on September 22, 1944, in Newburgh, N.Y., to the late Rocco and Mary Alfano Pacella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Rocco Pacella, Michael Pacella and Carl Pacella.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lowe Pacella; children, Heather Pacella of Mooresville, and Richard Pacella Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; granddaughter, Gianna Musto of Mooresville; sister, Frieda Gozza of Newburgh, N.Y.; dog, Bellarose; cat, Vincenzio; and bird, Mango.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
