Robert Franklin Fulp, 87, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022, in his home. Robert was born August 19, 1935, to Roy Fulp and Flora Caskaddon of Iredell County, N.C.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Flora; his wife, Joann G. Fulp; and great granddaughter, Layla Adams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Melanie Fay (Art), Linda Richter (Don), Michael Fulp (Terry), and Lori Ann Fisher (Ricky); grandchildren, Shannon Fulp, Brittany F. Hill, Adam Fisher, and Sienna Fay; and great grandchildren, Heaven Fulp and Chloe Fulp.
Robert graduated Scotts High School, Class of 1953, and Mitchell Community College, Class of 1977. He was in the U.S. Army from July 1953 to June 1956. He was honorably discharged with National Defense Service Medal, and a good conduct medal. He fought in the Korean War. He was a member of Monticello Methodist Church, and was a Sunday School teacher and active church member. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting.
Services for Robert are to be held Monday, August 29, 2022, at Monticello Methodist Church with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
