Rosa Nell Pope, 81, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her home. Born in Iredell County on April 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Henry Hoyle Lipe and Arleene Nash Lipe.

Mrs. Pope was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a great cook, enjoyed quilting and reading and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and for 11 years she owned her own restaurant. She retired from Hunt Manufacturing Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Henry Pope; and three siblings, Ometa Harris, Caroleta Goforth and Dayle Lipe.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Pope (Kim) and Allen Pope (Beverly); and a sister, Sue Cook. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Amber Perkins, T.J. Pope, A.J. Pope and Mindy McNeely; and two great grandchildren, Corbin Perkins and Cohen McNeely.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday January 25, 2022, at Nicholson Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
