Shirley Orrell, affectionally known as “Nanny,” passed away quietly in her home surrounded by her family on June 2, 2022. Born on February 17, 1947, she was a beloved mother, companion, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her life partner, Edward O’Keefe of the home; her brother, Michael Earl Inscoe; sister, Dolly Estes (Ted); and four children, James Bullock, Carrie Bullock, Ann Sheffield (Michael), and Steve Bullock (Cynthia). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Katie Carman (Steve), Anne Talbert (Ryan), Billy Link (Dianne), Will Barnette (Rubby), Robin Minton (Eric), Andy Bullock, Beth Bullock, Tiffany Johnson, Jacob Bare, and Brittany Willeart (Damian). She has 13 great grandchildren. Ed’s children include Merry, Louise, Ed, Ted, and Frank. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Smith Hudson and Willie Fitz Inscoe; her brothers, William Inscoe, Danny Inscoe, and Willie “Billy Boy” Inscoe Jr.; her son, Joseph Bullock; and grandchildren Micheal Going, Jonathan “Booster” Bullock, and Jerry “Tray” Bare III; and great-granddaughter, Serenity Barnette.

She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. We praise God she is now safely in his arms. The family appreciates all your prayers and support.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.
