Tam Leroy Wingler, 72, of Harmony, N.C., passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his home. Born on November 27, 1949, in Iredell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Tam Wingler and Lucy Barker Wingler.

Leroy worked for many years as a mechanic for several textile plants. He loved cooking for people and giving his time to help others. He loved and cherished his boys, Stephen and Scott, and his granddaughters, Ellie Dean and Maylee Faye, very much.

In addition to his parents, Tam Wingler and Lucy Barker Wingler, he was preceded in death by Mrs. Hazel Wike, who was his lifelong friend and like a second mother to him; and Donald Wike, who was not only his friend but considered his brother.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Stephen Wingler and wife LeDell and Scott Wingler and wife Sara; two granddaughters, Ellie Dean Wingler and Maylee Faye Wingler; his siblings, Lorene Wingler Hobbs, Jerry Wingler, Dale Wingler and wife Wanda, and Mark Wingler and wife Ann; his caregiver, Shirley Moore; and his many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Octobers 20, 2022, in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Scott officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m.
