Virginia B. Hoover, 87, of Statesville, N.C., died Friday, June 24, 2022.

She was born in Iredell County on December 6, 1934, to the late Meaver Andrew Bennett and Neva Leola Keever Bennett. On February 10, 1951, she married Norman Taylor Hoover, who preceded her in death on September 20, 1978.

Also preceding her in death were three sons, Norman “Junior” Hoover, Michael Hoover and Roger Hoover; six brothers, Paul, JC, Richard, James, Harold and Craig Bennett; three sisters, Kathleen Moose, Lucille Brim, and Sue Shoemaker; and son-in-law, Danny McHargue.

Virginia enjoyed flowers and collecting bells. More than anything, she loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Patti McHargue; a sister, Doris Moose; six grandchildren, Danny F. McHargue Jr. (Stacey), Christopher T. McHargue (Stephanie), Tonya Smith, April Tester, JT Hoover (Heather), and Amanda Collins (Jamie); and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem UMC Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home prior to the service.
