Wayne Taylor Lyles, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on September 27, 2022. He was born on August 1, 1939, in Mooresville to the late Arthur and Betty Brewer Lyles.

Wayne proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He spent his career as a truck driver and traveled the country doing what he loved. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife. Wayne loved his cats, Joe, Runt, Feller, and Pretty Girl. He loved his family above all. Wayne will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Brack Lyles; brother, Richard Lyles; and sister, Joyce Sipes.

He is survived by his children, Dana McCurdy and her children, Austin, Ella, and Geri; Sam Lyles (Anglea) and their children, Miranda and Gary; Scotty Lyles (Lori) and their son, Porter; Carol (Randy) Matthews and their children, Robbie and Elizabeth; and several great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Michael “Ratt” Pyatte.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
