William Leroy Gibson, 76, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Bill was born on November 21, 1945.

Bill graduated from Scotts High School and Wayne Technical College. He was employed with Hubbard Farms until he retired in 2008.

Bill was preceded in death by his precious angel, Amy Gibson, and his parents, Alfred and Cora Gibson.

He was an avid fisherman, specifically at the coast with friends. He loved sports and anything related.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Shaver Gibson; son, Andy, and wife Wendy Gibson; granddaughters, Emily Gibson, Anna Gibson, and Grace Cartner; his sisters, Alene Lippard and Alice Redmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Bill’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mt. Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Fox officiating. Burial will follow at 5 p.m. at South River Baptist Church Cemetery in Statesville. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mt. Road Baptist Church prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Hal Gibson, Harry Gibson, Scott Wilson, Arnold Weatherman, Kenneth Redmond, Joe Redmond, and John Weatherman.
