William Thomas Garrison Jr., 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. William was born January 19, 1942, to the late William Sr, and Hermina Barneveld Garrison in Montgomery County, Md.

William is survived by his wife, Judy Engelking Garrison; daughter, Lena Garrison (Anne Davis); son Richard Garrison (Angela); son Michael Garrison; stepson Jeremy Waechter (Angela); stepdaughter Melanie Waechter (James Ridgely); grandson Andrew Garrison; grandson Oliver Garrison; granddaughter Schuyler Garrison; granddaughter Loreli Garrison; great grandson Mason Garrison; great grandson Liam Garrison; and great granddaughter Aleena Mitchell.

William was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Lazarus Garrison.

William served in the U.S. Marine Reserves for six years and graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago with his bachelor’s degree. He worked for Rudy’s Transportation in Frederick, Md., as a truck driver and dispatcher before he retired. William was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and an active member of the Lions Club since 1989, and honored as Lion of the Year, in Boonsboro, Md., for 2005-2006.

The family will be planning a memorial service at a later date.
