Wilma Anderson Swicegood, 94, of Cleveland, N.C., went to eternal rest on August 25, 2022, at her home. Wilma was born August 28, 1927, in Iredell County to the late Tracy and Lacie Marlowe Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Swicegood, who passed away in January of 2015; sisters, Louise A. Swicegood (Reid) and Dorothy A. Warren; and brothers, Ernest Anderson (Betty Jo) and Lonnie Anderson.

Survivors include a son, Larry Swicegood; daughter, Linda S. Owens; four grandchildren, Shane Owens, Shannon Boyd Wood (John), Taylar Swicegood and Lindsay Smith; seven great grandchildren, Mason Owens, Madison Owens, Cooper Owens, Ben Boyd, Wyatt Cline, Brady Ernest, and Chase Ernest; and several nieces and nephews.

Wilma retired from Celenese Corp. after 21 years. She loved to cook, loved spending time watching game shows, and was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves. She was a charter member of Faith Church in Statesville, N.C.

Wilma will lie in repose on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Faith Church Cemetery on Wilma’s 95th birthday, Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Lowery officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC. 28625, or Faith Church Cemetery Fund.
