Antoinette “Toni” Echerd Pottinger, 74, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Alamance County on March 15, 1949, to the late James Homer Echerd and Mary Catherine Connolly Echerd. She was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Andy Echerd, and another brother, Jim Echerd.

Toni loved to travel, so being a flight attendant for many years brought her happiness and enjoyment. She traveled overseas with her job and saw many beautiful places. Toni was an excellent cook.

Those left to cherish her memory include a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Echerd; four nieces, Cortni Farmer (Shawn), Shelley Stover (Scot), Nikki Coulter (Kevin), and Anna Echerd; a special friend, Faye Shew who was like a sister to her; and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Commander John Connolly officiating. The family will visit with friends form 12:30 to 1 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
