Bessie Elizabeth Dishman Kilpatrick, 92, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on December 21, 2023, from her home in Iredell County.

Bessie was born on July 4, 1931, in Iredell County. She was the daughter of the late Bessie Chapman Kilpatrick. In addition to her mother, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Kilpatrick Jr.; her son, James Troy Kilpatrick who passed after a short illness in 2015; and two sisters.

Bessie graduated from Statesville High School. She chose a life of caring for her children and husband. She loved her family and wanted nothing more than to take care of them and watch them thrive. Bessie was a former member of Fourth Creek Presbyterian Church.

Bessie leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, William Kilpatrick III of Statesville and Terry Wayne Kilpatrick of Columbia, S.C.; and a grandson, Brian Kilpatrick of Statesville.

In honor of the wishes of Bessie, the family will not be holding any funeral services.
