Billy Ernest Teal, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House. Billy was born on June 27, 1943, to the late Vernon and Agnes Christiansen Teal in Benton Harbor, Mich.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Margaret Wilder Teal.

Billy is survived by children, Janet Teal Hebner and Michael Teal. Also surviving are grandchildren, Adam Hebner, Kate Hebner Lewis, and Tony Kickles Jr.; great-grandchildren, Isla, Abigail, Tucker, Nora, and Cole; niece, Lori Ruiz; and lifelong friends, Greg Pamer and Caroline Musaka.

Billy graduated Benton Harbor High School. He was a member of Saron Lutheran Church of Michigan and St. John’s Lutheran of Statesville.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Statesville.
