Bobby Lee Oliver Sr., 89, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.

He was born September 25, 1933, in Alamance County, N.C., to the late Edgar Fitch Oliver and Sadie Lee Hamilton Oliver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Vivian Scott, Allen Oliver, Jeanette Glenn, Johnny Oliver, Jack Oliver, and Forrest Oliver.

Bob enjoyed fishing excursions with his family, and traveling around with his wife Jean. He loved watching birds enjoying his bird houses, bird baths, and feeders.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jean Hobbs Oliver; children, Deborah Boles (Darrell Hill), Bonnie Ryan (Randy), and Lee Oliver Jr. (Jen); stepchildren, Tracy Brewer (Todd), Blake Keller, and Lori Wright (Jason); siblings, Sonny Oliver, Edna Blanchard, Gene Oliver (Pat), Ann Suggs (Cecil), Gordon Oliver (Cindy), and Jane Scott (Tony Stafford); grandchildren, Jeff Boles, Andy Boles (Jen), Brad Boles (Peggy), Matt Boles (Katie), Jennifer New (Kevin), Sean Ryan, Eryn Kerley-Oliver, Jackson Rowland, Caroline Rowland, Josh Wright (Allison), Ashley Wright, Rhylie Keller, and Rhyne Keller; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, July 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The service will be on Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Eddie Karriker officiating. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, July 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House, 1325 Mecklenburg Highway, Mooresville, NC 28115.
