Bryon James Walker went to heaven in the late morning on September 25, 2023. He was born on February 27, 1948, in Bellflower, Calif., and was married in March of 1973 to Nora Michelle Walker, to whom he remained married his entire life.

Bryon joined the Navy at the age of 17, where he received his GED and fought valiantly for his country in the Vietnam War. After his discharge, Bryon drove a rig across the continental U.S. for over 11 years and then worked for Pacific Southwest Airlines in 1986, where he worked until his retirement in 2020.

Bryon loved spending time with his family, whether at home, on vacation or at family reunions. His favorite pastime was working with and restoring antique cars, the pride of which was a 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Bryon especially enjoyed sharing this passion with family, friends, and the occasional stranger who shared his love of cars. He had a love for all things edible and in particular always found a way to enjoy hidden sweets and spicy treats.

Bryon was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife Nora and sister-in-law Kelly, Bryon leaves behind his son BJ, daughter Lauren, and his grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, Benjamin, Scarlett, and Sealey.

A memorial service will be held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C., on Sunday, October 1, at 2 p.m. The family have visitation immediately following the memorial service on site at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
