Charles Cody Goble, 86, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Gordon Hospice House after a period of declining health.

Charles was born June 3, 1937, In Iredell County to the late Charles Goble and Stella Rufty Goble. Mr. Goble joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Celeste Hinkle High School. Upon his return from the service, he worked several jobs, including at Southern Screw, Clark, and also as a mechanic. On October 26, 1963, he married Sylvia “Sue” Fox. They enjoyed over 53 years together before her passing in 2016.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, John Goble; three sisters, Leoda Pope, Irene Stroud and Hazelene Alexander.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Pansy Pearman of Ashboro; two nieces, Vicky Duncan (Jeff) of Asheboro and Debbie Furr (John) of Statesville; two nephews, Joe Alexander (Angie) of Danville, Va., and Jerry Wayne Goble (Barbara) of Stony Point.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Crider officiating.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County.
