Claude R. Munday, 68, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Claude was born in Iredell County, son of the late Claude Grady Munday and Hazel Johnson Munday. Claude proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Corvette Club, loved NASCAR, playing golf and his cats.

In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his first wife Maria Stroud and his second wife Joan Flouton.

Those left to cherish Claude’s memory include his daughter, Angela Brady (Jason); grandson, Sawyer Brady; sister, Elaine Mackey; nephew, Michael Mackey; and special friend, Denise Munday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 24, at Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery with full military honors. Rev. John Parks will be officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any veterans group of your choice.
