Mr. Cleon William Ijames, 52, was born in Iredell County on October 4, 1970, to Lillian Mae Johnson Ijames and the late William Braxton Ijames. He departed this life on January 30, 2023, at The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.

Cleon graduated from Heritage High School, in Richmond, Va., with the Class of 1990 and studied Phlebotomy with the American Red Cross. Prior to his death, he was employed by S & P USA Ventilation Systems. He enjoyed going fishing, visiting theme parks, watching movies, and eating out.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kim Ijames; and his two sisters, Lisa Ijames and Linda Everhart.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his mother, Lillian Mae Johnson Ijames; two sons, Donavan M. McClelland of Statesville, and David Ijames of the Dominican Republic; one sister, Thomisha Tucker of Winston-Salem, N.C.; six uncles, Kenneth Johnson, Leon Ijames, Otis Ijames, Harris Ijames, Gerald Ijames, and Rufus Ijames; one aunt, Linda Johnson of Atlanta, Ga..; special cousins, Pat Ijames and Terry Ijames; nieces and nephews, Anthony Angle, Katneta Angle, Kanisha Angle, and Karina Angle; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
